Robert Barnby

On the outskirts of the picturesque Hay-on-Wye on the Welsh border Rob handcrafts furniture for residential and commercial interiors, predominantly in the UK. His products can be shipped further afield and have been sold all over the world.

In 2009 he graduated with a degree in Furniture and Product Design from Nottingham Trent University. He set up his business in 2012 and has been lucky enough to work on projects with award winning architects including Alex de Rijke, and with acclaimed workshops such as Sir Terence Conran and Sean Sutcliffe's 'Benchmark'.

Outside of his workshop showroom his work can often be viewed at exhibitions in London. In 2014 one of his projects also made it into The Victoria & Albert Museum.

Clean lines and subtle details are characteristics you'll find throughout. Like Dieter Ram he believes good design should be 'as little design as possible'. Drawing influences from Scandinavian and Japanese design his work can often be described as having a fresh take on the mid-century modern aesthetic.

If you like what you see please do get in touch. Many of the larger items are made to order and as such can be made to bespoke sizes, finishes and timbers. Equally if your working on a larger bespoke project and think our style fitting, we'd love to hear from you.
